Jesus said we are to love our neighbors as ourselves.
(Matthew 22:39)
At the CHCH, we take this command seriously.
In orphanage lingo, He calls us to love these orphans as if
they were our own children.
Check out what a little of this Jesus-like love can do to a
small child…

Lovemida (5) on April 27. She had only been living a the CHCH for a few weeks. Bloated belly, orange hair, and worms galore, Lovemida was gradually being restored to health. Her only clothes could have passed as rags and her one pair of shoes barely fit. Besides her one sister she had no friends and didn't have a whole lot of energy to play and keep up with our overly energetic and outgoing kids at the orphanage. Missing her mom, she needed love...Jesus' type of love.
She needed us to love and care for her as if she were our own. So we did. |

Lovemida (5) on May 27. Now, Lovemida is a vibrant and playful little girl. Although she is still developmentally behind, she is healing and she is happy. She is a friend to all our little girls and is typically walking around making funny poses as the one you see here. These days, Lovemida can't stop smiling. Why? Because she has been given Jesus' love.
Loving children as ourselves...as if they were our own...there is no greater feeling in the world! ~Jillian |
